Raiders of the Lost Ark - a few script pages personally annotated by Harrison Ford
I found these pages buried in Google images - some lucky (and wealthy) person acquired the complete Raiders of the Lost Ark script, intensely annotated throughout by none other than Indy himself. This annotated script sold for a ‘measly’ one hundred thousand bucks.
Going off on a slight tangent here … I think that Indy 3 should have been the closer - it was a stellar culmination, with the pairing of Harrison Ford and Sean Connery as his father, for the character. While the 4th installment, the Crystal Skull, delivered on everything we had come to love as Indy fans, it still felt belabored and that film, then considered the character’s swan song, really lowered the pedestal that Indiana Jones had justly stood upon. And now?
Well, and now we’re getting the Dial of Destiny, definitely the final chapter. Dare I say it? I have a bad feeling about this. Even just seeing the trailer gives me the sense that this film will further diminish the iconic figure. Maybe I’m wrong - heck, I hope I’m wrong.
Anyway, back to Ford’s Lost Ark script pages. Well, we’re not that rich person who now owns the full script - but heck, at least this article gives you a few glimpses into movie history - and surely into the making of one of Hollywood’s most iconic characters. Enjoy!
Just in case the above put you in the mood for a bit more:
